Year 3 have been learning about money. The children practised recognising coins and notes and understanding their values.
We worked on adding different amounts together and solving money problems using written methods and reasoning skills. The class also practised finding totals and calculating change.
The children showed great concentration and enthusiasm during our lessons and are becoming much more confident when working with money.
Well done, Year 3, for all your hard work this week!
This week, Year 3 performed their class assembly in front of parents and carers. The children spoke confidently about all the exciting things they have been learning in school this academic year and shared their achievements with pride.
They also gave a fantastic performance of California Dreamin’, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The children worked very hard to learn their lines and songs and we were incredibly proud of their confidence and enthusiasm.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who came to watch and support the children. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Year 3 have been busy exploring the exciting world of pneumatic toys! As part of their Design and Technology learning, the children discovered how air can be used to create movement. They investigated simple pneumatic systems and learned how pushing air through tubes and syringes can make parts of a toy move in different ways.
Using their creativity and imagination, the children designed and made their own unique pneumatic toys. They carefully constructed their models using papier mâché, building strong and colourful structures like animals with moving jaws. Each toy showed fantastic originality and problem-solving skills.
Throughout the project, the children demonstrated great teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm. They tested and improved their designs, making sure their pneumatic systems worked effectively. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they solved challenges and brought their ideas to life.
Well done Year 3, for your hard work and creativity, your pneumatic toys are truly impressive!
Year 3 went to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and took part in a Roman invasion workshop. They learnt about life in Britain during the Roman invasion.
Today was safer internet day and year 3 designed posters about keeping safe online.
